Using jeweller’s wax, you’ll be guided through the process of turning an idea into a three-dimensional piece of jewellery. Wax is an incredibly versatile material, so your ring can be whatever you want it to be — simple and sculptural, chunky and textured, delicate and organic, or something completely unexpected.
You don’t need any previous jewellery-making experience. I’ll take you through the process step by step, from developing your initial idea and understanding how your ring needs to be made, through to carving and refining your final design. You’ll have plenty of time to experiment with shape, texture and detail, with individual guidance throughout the session.
The workshop is designed to be a chance to slow down, switch off and make something with your hands. Whether you’re creating a ring to mark a special moment, making a meaningful gift, or simply want to make something beautiful for yourself, there’s something particularly special about wearing a piece that you have designed and made from scratch.
I’ll show you how to work with the wax and use the different tools available in the studio. You’ll learn how to shape, remove, texture and refine the wax, with the freedom to develop your design as you go. I’ll work with you individually throughout the workshop, helping you bring your idea to life.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll have your finished wax ring and the option to have it professionally cast into your choice of Silver or Gold. Casting, gemstones and gold plating are available as optional upgrades, so you can decide how you’d like to take your piece forward..
Come on your own, bring a friend, or make it part of a special day together. Spaces are intentionally small so that everyone has plenty of time, guidance and space to create.
